About the Program

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital offers a comprehensive 12-month transition-to-practice nurse residency program beginning October 2026, designed to facilitate your progress from student to professional nurse. The program combines precepted orientation with dedicated preceptors and blended learning experiences to prepare new graduate nurses with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care.

• Develop clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient condition and urgency of clinical situations
• Cultivate excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients
• Participate in cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization
• Learn didactic content tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations

Responsibilities

As a staff nurse, you will provide nursing care across the patient lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. You will:

• Coordinate patient care activities of assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care
