About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at St. Mark's Hospital, you’ll have all the staffing support, technology, and resources you need to deliver safe, high-quality care—so you can focus on what you do best. The RN delivers nursing care to patients consistent with the RN’s knowledge and skills and in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. Promotes a positive teamwork environment, emphasizing respect to all, including patients, families, physicians, staff, and other departments.

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, you will independently provide individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the unit who have had a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other traumatic physical injury. Work with an interdisciplinary team made up of other RNs, Speech, Physical and Occupational therapy professionals, and medical doctors to help patients meet their goal of being discharged by social work to continue their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
  • Independently perform general and unit-specific clinical skills.
  • Contribute to the Department of Nursing and the nursing profession in a positive manner.

Requirements

  • Current Utah State RN license in good standing.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) certification—must obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) certification—must obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain certification.
  • At least one year of RN experience required; one or more years of experience in Acute Rehab strongly preferred.
