RN Registered Nurse - SICU - Part-Time -7pm-7:30am Monday thru Friday & every 3rd wknd

About the role

This position is located in the SICU at Henry Ford Health Genesys in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The schedule is part-time nights from 7pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday, and every third weekend.

Responsibilities

• Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
• Collaborate with patient/family, hospital staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans that prepare patients for continued care needs.
• Complete admission and shift assessments as required.
• Initiate problems and outcomes lists based on medical diagnoses and patient needs.
• Maintain and document a plan of nursing care in collaboration with patient/family.
• Monitor, document, and report patient responses to interventions and progress toward outcomes.
• Educate patients regarding treatment plans, safety measures, medications, and self-care as indicated.
• Work with Case Managers to ensure appropriate referrals are initiated prior to discharge.
• Document patient care according to established documentation guidelines.
• Administer therapeutic regimens, including basic nursing procedures such as dressing changes, catheterizations, NG tube insertions, and suctioning.
• Implement and complete medical interventions as ordered, including IVs, blood products, and blood capillary glucose monitoring.
• Monitor patient physiologic parameters and respond appropriately to changes in respiratory, neurologic, and cardiac status.
• Communicate with other professionals and departments to ensure appropriate progress of patients through the system.
• Participate in teaching/mentoring of student nurses and orientates.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• Three to nine months on-the-job experience required for this position.
