Position Highlights

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3 on day shift, 1:4 on night shift

Responsibilities

  • Implement the nursing process with patients, including carrying out physicians' orders regarding diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
  • Perform assessments; monitor and ensure quality care through observation and evaluation; document nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and report findings to physicians as needed.
  • Instruct patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans, and related patient care directed toward a safe discharge.
  • Respond to emergencies; maintain availability of medications and supplies; ensure cleanliness of equipment and environment.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and act as an ambassador and advocate for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC).

Requirements

  • Current Ohio RN license and CPR certification prior to patient care experience.
  • Current ACLS and Basic EKG certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire (must remain current).
  • PCCN certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
