RN Registered Nurse - Pediatric Emergency Department - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift

Full-time, benefit-eligible night-shift position: 36 hours weekly (three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating every other weekend and observed holidays. Sign-on bonus of $7,500.

About the role

Provide direct nursing care in the 13-bed Pediatric Emergency Department of Henry Ford St. John Hospital, a 100-bed Emergency unit that also includes Adult Emergency (75 beds) and the Behavioral Health Observation Annex (12 beds). The fast-paced team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, ER Techs, and Paramedics. The unit fosters a growth mindset, encouraging voluntary participation in planning meetings, shared governance, and educational development.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Emergency Department and/or Pediatric experience required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.
