RN/ Registered Nurse - Neurology

About the role

Full-time (1.0 FTE) day position based at our Maplewood Clinic. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

The registered nurse plans, organizes, coordinates, and provides professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory neurology setting. Care is delivered following established standards and protocols, with sensitivity to the unique needs of the ages served. The RN supports quality patient- and family-centered care by performing high-level functions within a care team, educating patients and the public about medical conditions, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and continually improving processes and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
• Implement nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
• Evaluate care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Deliver care as delegated by physician or authorized practitioner to the assigned patient population or individual patient.
• Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Continuously improve work processes, environment, and overall experience to serve customers and meet business goals.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice; some positions may require additional state RN licenses.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of previous healthcare experience in an ambulatory setting.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
