Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents. They collaborate with residents, families, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. They care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. They coordinate care, assess residents, educate residents, and perform various nursing interventions. They may serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.

Experience Requirements

  • 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)

Scheduling Requirements

  • Minimum of 30 hours per month
  • One weekend shift per month

Department Details

  • Mileage reimbursement provided for required travel
  • Premium Pay Rates: $5/hour premium on all hours worked. $1.25/hour weekend shift differential $1.25/hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications

Utilizes the nursing process, collaborates with interdisciplinary colleagues, coordinates care, assesses residents, educates residents, performs various nursing interventions, serves as charge nurse, delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, provides adequate assistance and support to delegates, functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure, recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
