RN - Registered Nurse - ICU - Nights

About the role

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver a level of excellence and compassionate care to our patients in the ICU at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – New Port Richey, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Captures and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient

• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of critical care procedures and protocols
