Responsibilities

  • Supervises and guides all areas by visiting units/departments throughout the shift.
  • Interprets policies and regulations to staff patients and visitors.
  • Coordination of placement/transfer of patients.
  • Responding to staffing issues.
  • Screens incoming patients for appropriateness of admission/transfer.
  • Facilitates placement in proper level of care.
  • Acts as hospital spokesperson, investigates incidents and events, and takes appropriate action.
  • Interviews to provide assistance in problem-solving and conveys a positive image of the hospital.
  • Arranges/facilitates emergency operations as needed.
  • Performs clinical functions as needed.
  • Intervenes in patient, family associated, and physician complaints and follows up with director/manager and patient advocate.
  • Assigns staff utilizing appropriate mix of full time, PRN and agency staff to meet each unit’s needs.
