RN / Registered Nurse - Hospice

About the Role

Generations Hospice is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice RN to join our team. Our hospice RNs provide expert, patient-centered care at a critical time in people’s lives. This role offers lower patient-to-nurse ratios for meaningful, unrushed hospice care with strong interdisciplinary team support, including Social Work, Chaplaincy, Aides, and providers, so you’re never practicing alone. Leadership understands hospice nursing, and a dedicated internal after-hours triage team supports nurses outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess/monitor physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients
• Create hospice care plans that align with the patients wishes and goals
• Direct nursing care: administering medications, treatments, and interventions
• Provide pain and symptom management
• Educate and support the patient’s family and caregivers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in on-call rotation as required by local branch

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
