About the role

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time RN to join our highly committed and dynamic Emergency Services team. We provide excellent quality care to over 68,000 patients of all ages annually in a high-energy, patient-centered environment. As a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center and 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, our department is recognized for excellence in metrics and patient experience.

Emergency Services consists of 45 total patient exam rooms, including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms. We serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly, with 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. The department is also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities.

Responsibilities

As a nurse, you will play a direct role in providing LOVE + MEDICINE for a broad range of patient acuities. You will:

  • Perform with a high degree of clinical and professional aptitude while delivering patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team of Providers, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers
  • Provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including toddlers and adults
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing
  • An active Wisconsin or multi-state RN license upon start
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification
  • Prior acute RN experience preferred

Schedule

  • Part-time, 64 hours biweekly (0.8 FTE)
  • Full-time orientation for 12 weeks
  • 8-hour night shifts from 3p-11p
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Pay

  • Starting pay of $38.96 per hour and up, based on years of experience
  • Generous shift, weekend, and holiday differentials

Departmental leadership includes a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Clinical Manager, working Supervisors, Professional Development Nurse, and Quality Improvement Specialist Nurse. You’ll have opportunities to expand your critical thinking and nursing skills in a teaching-focused, team-oriented environment, with your voice heard through Nursing Shared Governance Councils.
