About the Role

The Hillcrest Emergency Department, recently remodeled with a $1.5 million investment, includes 20 beds and sees approximately 37,000 patients annually.

Under general supervision, you will identify and implement nursing interventions, evaluate results for diverse patient populations, and act as a resource to other nursing team members. This role promotes policy compliance and fosters professional collegial relationships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to Emergency Department patients, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
• Direct and support other members of the nursing team as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire; commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent Emergency Room RN experience; two (2+) years preferred.
• Proven clinical skills to assess, intervene, and evaluate Emergency Room patients.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN degree.
• Relevant specialty certification (e.g., CEN, TNCC).

Special Conditions

• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center’s operational needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
• Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
• Life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.

Pay

Hourly Pay Scale: $66.25 - $92.86

Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (prorated for appointment percentages less than 100%). Factors determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.

Schedule

• 90% appointment (full-time equivalent).
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, Sunday through Saturday.
