Job Summary

Geisinger offers a full-time Inpatient RN position up to $24,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates! Includes a $41.50 minimum hiring rate with potential for higher rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Job Duties

  • Affirms plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs.
  • Promotes adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve optimal care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Celebrates compassionate care during interactions with patients and families.
  • Coordinates patient care and interactions among staff members.
  • Maintains the required qualifications to provide care in assigned nursing units.
  • Ensures the best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.
  • Assesses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Formulates, coordinates, and implements a plan of care aligned with unit standards, including patient and family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Provides direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, following established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and modifies the plan of care based on patient response.
  • Collaborates with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to address patient needs and resolve issues.
  • Solves problems, troubleshoots, and takes corrective actions in the care and handling of equipment.
  • Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practices.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to achieve unit and organizational goals and is accountable for meeting unit and system-specific metrics.
  • Engages in patient quality and safety education programs and other initiatives aimed at improving departmental and organizational quality and safety.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily clinical, requiring adherence to all job-specific obligations and compliance with organization policies and procedures.

Schedule Details

Full-time, 36 hours per week, night shift, every other weekend and every other holiday. Self-scheduling is available with modifications by a scheduling committee to meet unit needs.

Unit Details

The Advanced Acute Care Trauma unit is a 20-bed, private room, medical/surgical, trauma-step down/telemetry unit. It cares for a diverse adult population including trauma, medical-surgical/telemetry patients. The unit is newly renovated with state-of-the-art equipment and supports various services such as embedded care management/social workers, PT/OT, vascular access team, lift team, transport teams, and wound ostomy nurses. Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required).

Experience & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Pennsylvania.
