Geisinger is offering a full-time Inpatient RN position up to $24,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates! The position offers a base rate of $41.50 with potential increases for experience and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is also available.
About the Role
The unit, GP4, focuses on Palliative, Hospice, and Medical Surgical care. It has 14 private beds in a newly renovated, peaceful environment. The schedule is .9 FTE (36 hours), rotating every other weekend and holiday.
Responsibilities
- Affords assessments, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs.
- Promotes adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve optimal care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Counsels patients and families on physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Formulates, coordinates, and implements the plan of care according to unit standards.
- Administers treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies as per policy and procedure.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and modifies the plan of care accordingly.
- Collaborates with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to address patient needs.
- Solves problems, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
- Participates in unit-based decision-making and contributes to the achievement of departmental and organizational quality and safety goals.
- Engages in patient quality and safety education programs and other initiatives to improve care.
Requirements
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
Qualifications
Experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but not required. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
