RN / Registered Nurse - Acute Care Float Pool at UW Medical Center-Northwest
About the role
The Night Shift Float Nurse position at UW Medical Center–Northwest–Acute Care Resource Team offers a dynamic opportunity to work on a variety of inpatient units, including telemetry, medical-surgical, rehabilitation, and surgical services floors. This role also provides cross-training opportunities on specialty units such as the Emergency Department, ICU, Childbirth Center, and inpatient behavioral health floors.
Responsibilities
- Identify care needs across a broad spectrum of hospital departments
- Triage patient care priorities in collaboration with the nursing supervisor
- Work alongside doctors, social workers, care managers, and therapists
- Restore patients' health by following evidence-based nursing practices
- Monitor and administer medications and IVs
Requirements
- 3 years of acute care inpatient hospital nursing experience
- BLS certification
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- Exposure to behavioral health nursing or willingness to learn the fundamentals of behavioral health nursing
