RN Radiology Special Procedure

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in Diagnostic Imaging, you will assess, plan, evaluate, coordinate, and provide quality nursing care to patients in the Department of Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures. Your role includes monitoring, recording, and analyzing physiologic data during diagnostic, therapeutic, biopsy, and interventional procedures. You will also provide nursing assessment, care, and interventions for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures and function as a circulating nurse.

This position empowers your voice in patient care through collaborative relationships and formal opportunities, including hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide proficient, age-specific, direct and indirect patient care in accordance with legal, hospital, and departmental policies, as well as established nursing care standards.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and results of diagnostic studies.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties across all departments with adequate supervision.
• Teach and provide nursing interventions for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.

Requirements

• Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements).
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year of acute care experience in IR, ICU, CVICU, or CATH Lab.
