About the role

Assist physician in assessing patients and establishing a plan of care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. This position is responsible for implementing the philosophy, objectives, standards of care, policies, and procedures of the Nursing Division under the direction of the Office Manager. The Staff Nurse provides direct patient care and trains new clinical employees in office protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and establish a plan of care in collaboration with the physician.
  • Provide direct patient care during chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
  • Implement nursing division standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Train new clinical employees on office protocols.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing, Temporary License with the NC Board of Nursing, or a Current License with a Nurse Licensure Compact State.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • Two to three years of clinical experience working with oncology patients.
  • Strong desire to teach patients.
