About the role

We are a child and adolescent unit for patients 5-18 years of age who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The unit focuses on stabilization through robust group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, as well as psychopharmacological interventions. RNs work with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals and provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care.

Schedule

• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Day/Evening/Night rotation
• Weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care to pediatric psychiatric patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals
• Facilitate and participate in group therapy sessions (Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, Coping Skills)
• Assist with psychopharmacological interventions

Requirements

• NYS RN License (New York License ONLY)
• 2 years of pediatric mental health experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI blue card
• Experience in a large, academic medical center
• Telemetry experience (nice to have)
