About the role
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Tradition Hospital is a specialized area within the hospital that provides care for patients who are too ill for a regular hospital floor but not sick enough for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification.
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in PCU preferred.
