RN-PRN II - Nursery - Desoto

Responsibilities

• Affords appropriate and accurate assessment of the patient based on their medical condition.
• Displays knowledge of ordered medications and administers them as prescribed.
• Provides care that is appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness; includes the family in teaching as appropriate.
• Demonstrates the ability to utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
• Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicates with social services regarding both hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Promotes cost-effective practices and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linen, and charge items.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
• Engages in lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.

Specifications

• Experience: Minimum Required - One (1) year of nursing experience.

• Licenses: Minimum Required - RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

• Certifications: Preferred/Required - NRP certification.

• Education: Minimum Required - Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Training: Preferred/Required - NRP Certification.

• Skills: Minimum Required - Computer literacy.
