Responsibilities
- Accurately assesses the patient based on their medical condition.
- Knows and administers ordered medications as prescribed.
- Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness, involving the family as appropriate.
- Utilizes nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
- Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
- Demonstrates ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families, communicating with social services as needed.
- Promotes cost-effective practices and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linen, and charge items.
- Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
- Promotes patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
- Engages in lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.
Specifications
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience.
Licenses: RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS/PALS specialty certification preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Training: ACLS/PALS specialty certification preferred.
Skills: Computer literacy.
