About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for an assigned number of patients under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager. Patient assignments are determined by patient census and current staffing levels, with adjustments made on a shift-to-shift basis. The RN may be assigned to other patient care units as needed based on census and staffing levels.
The RN will be assigned up to 40 hours per week and will rotate between day and night shifts according to the needs of the unit and staff. The role requires functioning within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.
- Document total care provided, review and maintain patient charts per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
- Work and relate professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Work under the general supervision of the Ambulance Department Head, using the Pre-Hospital and ACLS process.
Requirements
- Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
- Attendance at yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable; the employee is responsible for arranging and attending sessions.
