RN Preceptor - Residency Teaching Unit, Nights

Piedmont- ATHENS, GA Med Surg 6: Nurse Residency- Education Unit Part time Nights 7pm-7am Sign on Bonus Available

Responsibilities

• Serves 7 med/surg units by onboarding three cohorts of new graduate nurses each year.
• Provides new nurses with a solid clinical foundation through orientation on the dedicated unit.
• Creates a safe learning environment to develop competent, highly skilled nurses.
• Offers unparalleled support to nurse residents during orientation and transition to practice.
• Utilizes nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients.
• Functions within the framework of the organization's policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
• Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff.
• Provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients in the state-of-the-art new Main Tower.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC.
• BLS certification required.
• One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred for PRN positions.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for PRN positions.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum).
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred for PRN positions.
