Location: Allegheny General Hospital, Allegheny Health Network

Status: Casual, 24 hours every two weeks with rotating weekends and holidays per policy. This position is union-affiliated and not eligible for time off or medical benefits.

About the Unit

Allegheny General’s PDP Team consists of highly trained expert RNs who cover all areas of AGH based on their specialty and clinical expertise. The variety in patient types and acuity levels prepares nurses to care for critically ill patients. Team members also mentor and precept other nurses.

General Overview

Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population, providing care through the nursing process. Floats to multiple areas within an assigned team based on skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning skills.
  • Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
  • Professionally directs and manages patient care delivery by team members.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team on the plan of care from admission through discharge.
  • Assesses learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience in Med Surg/Tele.
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR certification – American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Schedule

24 hours every two weeks with rotating weekends and holidays per policy.
