Responsibilities
- Administers intravenous fluids, blood products, and other medications safely via peripheral and central catheters and ports.
- Identifies, assesses, and responds to problems through patient assessment and intervention.
- Evaluates actual or potential health problems.
- Develops and participates in educating patients and their support persons about post-discharge care and expectations.
- Initiates patient care meetings with the healthcare team to revise the patient’s plan of care on an ongoing basis as their condition warrants.
Requirements
- Active and unencumbered Nevada RN license (BSN degree preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of Infusion or Transfusion room nursing experience.
- Active Basic Life Support Certification required.
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card required within 6 months of hire.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) strongly preferred.
- Active Acute Care Life Support Certification preferred.
