RN Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - PICU
About the Role
As a Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) at Grand Strand Medical Center, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to critically ill and injured children. You will collaborate with medical providers and a multidisciplinary team to advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while upholding the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, procedures, and post-care needs.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a patient advocate while promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in South Carolina or Compact RN License.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current PALS certification or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
- One year of acute care RN experience.
- Previous PICU, Pediatric, ICU, Emergency Department, or Critical Care experience.
