About the role

The Procedural Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver healthcare within the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent care to patients, families, and communities, ensuring adherence to standards of care.
• Perform advanced procedures such as assisting with conscious sedation, IV placement, and patient monitoring.
• Document care accurately, offer health and wellness education, and act as a preceptor to staff and students.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and support departmental protocols.
• Conduct patient assessments pre- and post-procedure, review medical histories, initiate IV therapy, triage calls, complete authorizations, and assist with various procedures like epidurals and nerve blocks.
• Maintain supplies and perform urine drug screens.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed RN with current Illinois licensure
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS (within specified timeframes)
• Strong clinical skills
• Procedural knowledge
• Ability to educate and lead
