About the role
The Oxford Surgery Center is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) specifically for Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) roles. They are open to RNs with experience in Med Surg, Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or new graduates willing to undergo training.
Responsibilities
- Initiates the delivery of patient care through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, and planning) in the preoperative, interoperative, and postoperative phases of the surgical patient.
- Assists in providing nursing care to patients in a same-day surgery setting.
- Assumes full responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and center policies.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Makes rounds to monitor patients' conditions and ensures compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitors and controls the use of and charges for supplies utilized in the center.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Qualifications
- Experience in Med Surg, ER, ICU, or a combination thereof preferred.
- New graduates with a commitment to training and development.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Proficiency in computer systems for patient record keeping and supply management.
