The Peri-anesthesia (PACU) RN at CHA Everett Hospital is responsible for all aspects of care for perioperative patients in the preoperative phase and immediate post-operative phase through discharge. The peri-anesthesia nurse manages all aspects of nursing care for patients in pre-anesthesia testing, Surgical Day Care and PACU. Key responsibilities include:
- Pre-admission and pre-op duties
- Nurse duties in PACU
Qualifications/Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Massachusetts license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
- Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Two years current PACU/critical care experience that includes recovery of patients over a continuum of care from general, regional or local anesthesia and moderate sedation
On Call Requirements
- Variable start times
- On-call obligations including weekday nights, weekends and holidays
