About the role
Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and provide stellar care in a Magnet-recognized environment. Fairview Hospital’s PACU combines pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia care, supporting general, orthopaedic, vascular, thoracic, and pediatric surgical patients as well as endoscopy and interventional radiology procedures. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care across the patient journey, interact directly with patients and families, and provide healthcare education as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-anesthesia patients.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through AHA upon hire.
- One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Critical care or ICU experience.
Physical Requirements
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.

Pay
Minimum hourly: $35.50 | Maximum hourly: $55.60
Schedule
- 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m. shifts.
- On-call and weekend coverage; 3–5 call shifts every 6 weeks.
- Holidays covered by call only; department is closed on holidays.
