RN Outpatient - Pulmonary - West Penn - Full Time (Hybrid)

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families in an outpatient setting. The RN is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

• Supervise, delegate, and evaluate assigned LPN scope of practice as appropriate.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement a patient plan of care according to the individual needs of the patient as prescribed by physician, nurse, and hospital policy, including patient and family.
• Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
• Analyze the health status of individuals and families, comparing data with the norm when possible, to determine patient care needs.
• Assess patient reports/records for changes in condition; notify physician and/or supervisor and intervene appropriately, documenting accordingly.
• Accept assignments in areas other than the primary unit and perform duties within individualized competency.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous lifelong learning and professional development for self and others.
• Promote advancement of the profession through participation in professional organizations.
• Seek both formal and independent learning activities using current research findings and other evidence to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge.
• Participate in systematic peer review and obtain informal feedback regarding one’s own practice from patients, peers, professional colleagues, and others.
• Identify areas of strength and areas where professional development would be beneficial.

Requirements

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Certification in area of specialty preferred.
