About the role
The Ambulatory Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families, and communities, utilizing a systematic approach of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the RN scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Deliver competent healthcare, ensuring adherence to care standards and accurate documentation.
- Provide health and wellness education to patients and groups.
- Act as a preceptor, supporting staff and student development.
- Lead initiatives to improve care quality and clinical outcomes.
- Assist in developing departmental standing orders.
- Perform symptom-based telephone triage, patient education, and hands-on procedures like wound care, specimen collection, and DME fitting.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid RN license and BLS certification (within 30 days).
- Educational background in nursing (college diploma).
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to support quality improvement and staff development initiatives.
