About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Medina Hospital, a 148‑bed community‑based facility that has served Medina County for over 75 years. The 2 East unit is a 15‑bed nursing unit caring for post‑surgical orthopaedic and spine patients, including total joint replacements, revisions, lumbar and cervical decompressions, fusions, and laminectomies. The unit also cares for stable telemetry patients requiring ongoing cardiac monitoring. Most patients are discharged to rehabilitation facilities or home with home health services within 2‑4 days after surgery. As an RN on this team you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacting directly with patients and families and providing health‑care education as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute‑care RN experience in a hospital setting or licensed military RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, and have corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work is performed under stressful conditions and irregular hours, with exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. Medium work – exerting 20–50 lb of force occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly. Physical demand exceeds that of Light Work. Personal protective equipment is used in accordance with standard precautions.

Schedule

Days from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
The displayed range reflects the anticipated range for new hires; actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education. The range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
