RN- Ortho- PRN

About the role

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Maintain professional accountability for patient care
• Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers
• Coordinate patient care with other departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Current LPN license in Missouri; must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Qualifications

• New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs

Schedule

PRN (as needed), Days Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Pay

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers
