About the Role

Saint Alphonsus is looking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Orthopedic Med/Surg 5N Unit in Boise, Idaho. This 24-bed unit cares for a mixture of orthopedic, medical, and surgical patients ranging from adult to geriatric patients requiring acute care for various illnesses and injuries.

Introducing a new care model: the unit operates under the Together Care Team Model, which includes Virtual RNs, bedside RNs, and CNAs, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. This structure enhances patient care and offers opportunities for professional growth into other specialties, such as Emergency Room and Critical Care.

Schedule: Self-scheduling for full-time days, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), including rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care in collaboration with members of the health care team in the ongoing assessment, planning, and treatment of patients and families.
  • Utilizes resources wisely while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
  • Works and serves in a broad range of capacities, including delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, and teaching of the patient and the patient’s family.
  • Provides hands-on nursing care.

Requirements

  • A current RN license is required.
  • Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
  • At hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS).
