Responsibilities

  • Affords appropriate and accurate assessment of the patient based on their medical condition.
  • Displays knowledge of ordered medications and administers them according to prescription.
  • Provides care that is appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
  • Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness; involves the family as necessary.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
  • Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs tasks requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicates with social services about both hospital and post-discharge needs.
  • Promotes cost-effectiveness and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linens, and charge items.
  • Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
  • Promotes patient safety by minimizing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.

Specifications

  • Experience: 2 years of acute care experience required (ED or ICU level Nursing).

  • Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required Education - Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

  • Preferred/Desired: Training - ACLS/PALS Specialty Certification.

  • Minimum Required: RN; BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
