About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and other group or discipline needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Work Experience: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in nursing; Required none.
- Certifications: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; Preferred certification in clinical specialty area.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to be detailed oriented.
- Good time management skills and ability to be self-directed and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal, delegation, and leadership skills and ability to demonstrate good judgement and supervise or manage others.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Skills
- Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
