About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide professional nursing services to pediatric patients at home. This includes documenting human responses to actual or potential health problems, collaborating with the patient, family, and inter-professional colleagues such as physicians to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The role involves preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in the home setting. The RN implements the nursing process, coordinates care, conducts patient assessments, provides education, performs triage, and delivers various nursing interventions within the full scope of nursing expertise and standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer physician-ordered medical treatments and medications.
- Provide comprehensive respiratory support.
- Manage G-tube feedings and associated care.
- Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
- Support individualized therapy and exercise programs.
- Accompany client to school.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with patient, family, and inter-professional colleagues to plan and evaluate care.
- Provide patient/resident education and perform various nursing interventions.
Schedule
This seasonal position requires 32 hours per week from September through November, transitioning to PRN status starting in December.
Pay
Salary range: $24.75 - $48 per hour.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice occurs and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certificate for Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Specialist - Clinical (COS-C) preferred.
- Depending on location, a valid driver's license may be required.
