About the Role
The Operating Room Circulator provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. The RN utilizes the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care throughout the perioperative experience.
- Develop and implement appropriate nursing care plans.
- Provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care.
- Communicate pertinent patient and family information effectively to the healthcare team.
- Identify variances from patient goals and participate in developing and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- 2+ years of OR circulating experience required.
- Experience in a Level II or higher Trauma OR required.
- Robotics experience is required.
- Orthopedic Trauma experience required.
- Neuro experience required.
- No heart/cardiac experience is necessary.
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills.
- Ability to formulate and implement effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- Current Michigan RN license required.
- BLS certification required.
Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Call Requirements: 1 call per week (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every 6th weekend: Saturday/Sunday, either 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
