About the Role
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient. The OR RN is responsible for providing safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs. This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and reports to the Nurse Manager/Director.
Qualifications
Education:
- Nursing certificate/diploma required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- This role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree
Licenses and Credentials:
- Registered Nurse (RN - Massachusetts) - required
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification - required
- ACLS certification - required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position
- PALS or ENPC - required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position
Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years of Operating Room experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit

This is an onsite position located at 30 Locust Street, Northampton, MA.

Pay
Pay range: $42.19 - $72.88/hourly (Grade RN4N33)
