RN on 5S Nights

About the role

Full-time position on a 12‑hour night shift in 5 South, a 40‑bed fast‑paced, team‑oriented medical‑surgical unit specializing in urology, nephrology, trauma, colorectal surgery and general body systems. The unit partners with Virtual Nurse providers to deliver collaborative bedside and virtual care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, high‑quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Use a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Independently deliver nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment.
• Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Practice safe patient handling techniques.
• Continuously evaluate assigned patients and provide ongoing treatment.
