About the role
We're looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Ochsner Medical Center. This role acts as a leader in providing patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient groups.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction, explaining services or procedures, and communicating effectively.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement.
