Responsibilities
- Captures and coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team.
- Performs physical exams, health histories, nursing assessments, and routine observations for patients within established time frames.
- Administers medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions, and other treatment interventions safely and correctly using standard critical care equipment.
- Recognizes and intervenes in life-threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs and defibrillator or other emergency treatments.
- Documents patient assessment findings, care rendered, procedures performed, and other aspects of the patient's plan of care, making periodic updates related to the patient's condition and response to treatment.
- Provides patient and family health education based on assessed needs for indicated health conditions, medications, overall wellness, and directions for follow-up care.
- Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and quality control methods.
Qualifications
- Required education: Associates degree in nursing.
- Required License: Florida RN license.
- Required Certifications: BLS, NIS, HSS.
