RN - Observation Unit

Position Overview: This role is for a registered nurse in a 35-bed NT6 Observation Unit providing acute care for diverse patient populations, including cardiac, general surgery, and behavioral health cases. Patients typically stay 24-48 hours. The unit fosters a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with close collaboration among nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff, supported by a unit-based educator, supervisors, and discharge nurses. Key Responsibilities: Perform patient assessments, develop and modify care plans, and ensure accurate documentation. Administer treatments such as IV insertions, Foley/NG placements, and telemetry monitoring. Prioritize patient care, respond to changes in patient status, and maintain safety standards. Communicate effectively with team members, provide feedback, and participate in staff meetings. Uphold departmental competencies and safety protocols. Qualifications & Skills: RN license with at least 1 year of experience, BLS certification within 30 days, and relevant nursing education. Proficient in using nursing equipment, prioritizing care, and documentation. Demonstrates strong communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
