Neuro ICU Opportunities

Our Neuro ICU is a fast-paced environment that include high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Neuro ICU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.

  • Patient Population: Non-trauma neurosurgical patients, Strokes, specialized spine, Neurovascular surgeries, and seizures
  • Department Specifics: 15 Beds, Certified Comprehensive Stroke facility, Unit based practice council, Onsite nurse practitioners, stroke coordinators and educator. Leadership team with "all hands-on deck"
  • Open Statuses: Full Time

Job Summary

As Nursing Manager, level 2 RN, you shape a positive team environment, ensure high-quality nursing practices, teamwork, and patient safety. You create plans, implement policies, manage resources, oversee finances, and manage quality improvement efforts. Arrange educational programs to meet goals and act as caregiver when needed.

Essential Functions

  • Formulate and communicate a clear vision for nursing practices within your area of responsibility
  • Involve supervisory and other staff in setting and accomplishing departmental goals
  • Continually update your knowledge base with the latest evidence-backed clinical and leadership practices
  • Foster a healing and supportive environment for patients, families, and fellow staff members
  • Recognize development needs and facilitate educational opportunities for staff members
  • Set a positive example of professionalism within the nursing field and work atmosphere
  • Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patient care

Key Success Factors

  • Knowing nursing practices, follow healthcare laws, and communicate well
  • Quality care, patient focus, and ethical practices are essential
  • Decision-making, resource management, and ethics are crucial skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 3 years' RN management experience is required for this role
  • RN licensed
  • Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days on the job
