RN, Nursing Informatics Specialist
Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – hybrid role supporting all Froedtert Health locations, primarily remote with onsite needs for project "go live," meetings, or as required. Ambulatory specialties service line.
About the Role
Plays a major role in the interdisciplinary care team's successful adoption of the electronic medical record. Knowledgeable about clinical workflows and the role technology plays in those workflows. Utilizes change management principles to facilitate the adoption of new clinical workflows brought about by technology updates. Coordinates (or provides expertise in) the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems in collaboration with IT and clinical operations.
Works as a liaison among stakeholders to ensure engagement and elicit, analyze, prioritize, and validate workflows and requirements for changes in processes, policies, and information systems. Ensures data/information aligns with regulatory agency and best practice standards. Coordinates the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization associated with clinical information systems. Serves as an internal consultant to all departments to identify and achieve department and project goals.
Responsibilities
- Integrate nursing/clinical science, computer science, and informational science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and expertise in clinical practice.
- Facilitate the adoption of new clinical workflows through change management principles.
- Plan, design, develop, train, implement, communicate, maintain, and evaluate clinical and business information systems.
- Liaise among stakeholders to validate workflows and requirements for process, policy, and system changes.
- Ensure data and information meet regulatory and best practice standards.
- Collect and report metrics to define benefits realization for clinical information systems.
- Act as an internal consultant to departments to achieve project and operational goals.
- Manage and coordinate implementation, design, and maintenance of clinical information systems to improve operations.
- Plan, prioritize, summarize, direct, and oversee staff, users, and vendors in clinical systems development and support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing clinical experience.
- Demonstrated competency and knowledge through participation in multi-disciplinary clinical implementation projects or minimum of 2 years of clinical informatics experience.
- 3 or more years of Nursing Informatics experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; non-BSN nurses with less than one year of licensed RN experience must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program within 15 months of hire and complete it within 5 years (6 years for MSN, DNP, or PhD).
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) state.

Schedule
- Full-time (1.0 FTE), 40 hours per week.
- Shift 1: Monday–Friday, standard business hours with some flexibility.
- No weekends or holidays.
