About the Role

Shape the future of cardiovascular care while leading one of the most technologically advanced invasive cardiology programs in the country. Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking an innovative and collaborative Nursing Manager, Invasive Cardiology to provide operational and clinical leadership across our nationally recognized Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Heart & Vascular Outpatient Unit (HVOU). This is a unique opportunity to join Central Pennsylvania's only academic medical center and lead a high-performing team delivering complex cardiovascular care supported by cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking research, and nationally recognized outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead approximately 35 clinical team members across the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Heart & Vascular Outpatient Unit.
  • Oversee six adult procedural laboratories supporting Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, Vascular Surgery, and Heart Failure.
  • Provide leadership for a dedicated Pediatric Hybrid OR supporting pediatric Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology procedures.
  • Direct operations of an 18-bed Heart & Vascular Outpatient Unit, supporting procedural recovery, 24/7 outpatient services, and emergency department surge capacity.
  • Support a program performing approximately 3,000 invasive cardiology procedures annually, alongside an additional 2,000 electrophysiology procedures.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary physicians, APPs, and clinical leaders to drive quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and continued program growth.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for invasive cardiology nursing services.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead staffing, employee engagement, professional development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary leaders to optimize patient flow, quality metrics, and procedural efficiency.
  • Drive evidence-based practice, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory readiness.
  • Support growth initiatives and expansion of advanced cardiovascular services.

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization
  • Right Heart Catheterization
  • Endomyocardial Biopsy
  • Complex Coronary Interventions
  • Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) interventions
  • Rotational Atherectomy
  • Coronary Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)
  • Coronary Laser Atherectomy
  • Renal Denervation
  • Pulmonary Embolectomy
  • Peripheral Vascular Interventions

Support one of the region's most comprehensive structural heart programs performing:

  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience required.
  • Progressive leadership experience required.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or Interventional Radiology highly desired.
