About the role

Beacon Behavioral Hospital seeks a dedicated, compassionate, and professional Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. Located in southeast Louisiana, Beacon provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for individuals struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental health issues.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Function as the Charge Nurse, responsible for nursing care and supervision of LPNs, CNAs, and Mental Health Technicians.
• RNs ensure care provided adheres to ANA standards and utilizes evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
• Serve as the Medication Nurse as needed and assist LPNs and other staff members.
• Work collaboratively with the DON as the liaison between program staff and medical staff.
• Operate within established budget and staffing guidelines.
• Engage in Performance Improvement by following the PDSA (Plan, Study, Do, Act) cycle.
• Model professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of operation.
• Bachelor’s, Associate degree, or diploma in nursing with a focus on treating psychiatric patients.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year specifically providing care to the mentally ill, or regular supervision/consultation from a Master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
