About the role
Join Fairview as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. In this vital role, you'll be part of a highly skilled team dedicated to providing life-saving care for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.
Responsibilities
- Affirms patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
- Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
- Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
- Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP).
Requirements
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross).
- NRP required before the end of orientation.
- 1-2 years of current RN NICU experience.
- Train to Charge Nurse within one year of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- 5 years RN NICU experience.
- Demonstrates the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform nursing duties required for assigned clinical setting.
- Proficient in the English language.
- Electronic Charting (EPIC).
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve effectively.

Compensation
The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
