Schedule

90% FTE, 8/12-hour evening/night shift between the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:30 am with a two in six weekend rotation. Holiday rotation required.

Pay

Additional components of compensation include shift differentials: $4/hour for evening, $5/hour for night, and $4.25/hour for weekend hours worked.

About the role

Join our 12-bed Neuro ICU on D4/4 and care for some of the most complex and critically ill adult patients within the neuro specialty. This role involves:

  • Providing care for adult patients in a critical care setting with ICU and IMC levels of care
  • Gaining experience with neurology, neurosurgical, and stroke conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus, cerebral aneurysm, and other neurovascular diseases
  • Utilizing strong critical thinking skills and providing interventions such as vasoactive drips, hemodynamic monitoring, feeding tubes, drains, and frequent neuro assessments
  • Working with a dynamic and supportive team of nurses and providers as part of nationally recognized neuroscience programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Six (6) months of nursing experience or current participation in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact (upon hire)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification (upon hire)
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
  • Relevant certification preferred
